Randall Notzen is an Intellectual Property attorney with experience in the areas of mechanical and electrical design, integrated circuit design, and software design. Early in his career, he served as a patent attorney for a manufacturer of medical diagnostic imaging equipment and as an electrical engineer working on the design of embedded operating systems using appropriate high and low-level languages; design, fabrication, and packaging of semiconductor devices; design and repair of semiconductor fabrication equipment; and additional forms of electrical and mechanical design.

Randy’s technical areas include electronics; image processing; computer-based control systems; software protection; semiconductor fabrication and physics; solid state devices; manufacturing of solid state devices; radiation technology; magnetics; optics; process controls and medical engineering. Randy has particular expertise related to the acquisition, protection, enforcement, and avoidance of infringement of patents and the relation of these assets to clients’ businesses.

Early in his career, Randy hosted the Inventors Insider educational series, a compilation of practical information to help inventors understand the importance and process of obtaining patent protection. As host of the series, he provided useful insight and direction for individuals, entrepreneurs, and businesses to help them take the right steps to safeguard their discoveries and innovations..
