PITTSBURGH, PA — Kathryn (Katie) M. Hanak joins The Webb Law Firm as an Intellectual Property Attorney. She has a strong background in prosecuting and litigating in the chemical, biomedical, mechanical, and oceanography fields. Katie also has previous experience handling the prosecution of trademark and copyright applications, as well as preparing intellectual property license agreements and joint venture agreements.
She is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Katie received her J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law. She earned a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, both from Carnegie Mellon University.
Prior to joining The Webb Law Firm, Katie was a biochemical research intern at Magee-Women’s Research Institute. She also worked for a boutique intellectual property law firm as well as a litigation law firm. For more than five years, Katie has served as an adjunct professor teaching intellectual property law at Carnegie Mellon University.
Ms. Hanak is active in various legal professional organizations, including the Allegheny County Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the Pittsburgh Intellectual Property Law Association.
