BIO

Christian Ehret combines a background in software development with a legal practice focused on intellectual property protection, strategy, enforcement, and defense, including patents, copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, and related contract matters. Christian helps technology companies, startups, and creative professionals secure IP rights, resolve disputes through litigation and negotiation, and develop strategies for IP portfolio management, risk assessment, and due diligence.

He represents clients in federal district courts and appeals courts, and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and associated administrative tribunals. His practice spans emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, financial technology, and encryption, as well as other areas such as physics, blockchain, biotechnology, consumer devices, and gaming. Drawing from his experience as a software engineer that developed e-commerce applications, Christian approaches each matter with a deep understanding of both the technology at issue and the business realities driving his clients’ decisions.

Christian teaches Patent Law as an adjunct professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and frequently presents on intellectual property topics for continuing legal education programs, technology groups, and corporate counsel.
