Fortney named President of Pittsburgh Intellectual Property Law Association

PITTSBURGH, PA — Lester N. Fortney, a Director at The Webb Law Firm, was named President of the Pittsburgh Intellectual Property Law Association (PIPLA). Mr. Fortney previously served as the Vice President of the organization, and will be assuming the top leadership role at PIPLA for the 2014-2015 term. PIPLA is an association for Intellectual Property attorneys that provides continuing legal education and legal resources for its members. PIPLA annually presents an Inventor of the Year Award for inventions directly benefitting the Western Pennsylvania region, and also annually presents an Intellectual Property Leadership Award to a local law student to honor excellence and achievement in the field of intellectual property.

Lester N. Fortney is an Intellectual Property attorney with a background in chemistry and chemical engineering. He is a graduate of Messiah College where he earned a B.S. in chemistry as well as a M.A. degree in physical chemistry from The University of Texas at Austin. He also holds a J.D. degree from the Notre Dame School of Law and is a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Fortney joined The Webb Law Firm in 1993.
