Julie W. Meder is an Intellectual
Property attorney with extensive experience in law, business and
technical fields such as chemical engineering, physics and
biotechnology. She is a published author and legal authority whose
informed comments have appeared in technology magazines and
scientific journals. Early in her career, she served as a research
fellow in biotechnology at the Agricultural University of Wageningen,
The Netherlands, and later as a polymer research and development
engineer and biotechnology technical sales representative with E.I.
du Pont de Nemours & Co., Inc., Wilmington, Delaware.
She holds a
J.D. degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, an M.S.
degree in chemical engineering from the University of Virginia, and
a B.A. in Physics from Colgate University.
Mrs. Meder
is involved with all aspects of IP law including patent protection
for plant varieties. She has presented and argued before the United
States Patent and Trademark Office Board of Patent Appeals and
Interferences and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit
high-profile cases with far-reaching impact on the plant breeding
community.

Mrs. Meder serves as a director and vice president of The Webb Law
Firm, which has concentrated exclusively in intellectual
property law since 1845.
