More time spent interviewing witnesses and reviewing documents early on can save countless hours later on… Hasty first impressions are often not entirely correct…”

David C. Hanson
Director and Vice President

David C. Hanson is an Intellectual Property attorney with experience in many fields.  Early in his career, he served as a research engineer for Harbison-Walker Refractories Company  and a lieutenant in the U.S. Army Ordnance Corps before obtaining his law degree.  For more than three decades, Mr. Hanson has litigated patent, copyright and trade secret matters.  His litigation experience extends from initial case evaluation to appeal and his subject material has been diverse: machine-control electronics, power electronics, ignitions systems, computer programming, polymer chemistry, chemical processes, alloy metallurgy, metallurgical processes, fabrication processes and heavy-construction equipment among others.

He is also involved in patent prosecution, patent licensing and patent clearance opinion writing.  He maintains a particular interest in patent claim construction law and has authored a number of articles on IP topics.

Professional Responsibilities
Mr. Hanson serves as a director of The Webb Law Firm, which has concentrated exclusively in intellectual property law since 1845.  On a daily basis, he shares with clients an extensive knowledge of  legal and technical subjects.   His work reflects a longtime belief that  “too little time is often spent evaluating a case before the pleading and discovery requests start flying.”
